Today I was due to do an 8.5 mile 'fast' session. Yet again, for the third time in a row, my training didn't go well. I think I'm battling with an underlying cold at the minute as I just don't seem to have any energy.
Not wanting to cut the session short or just jog round, I decided to turn it into something of a fartlek session instead. My struggle was with keeping speed up for long lengths of time so I decided to do lots of fast spurts instead with short breaks in between.
Hopefully bad training sessions come in threes and I'll be OK from now on.
Total distance - 8.5 miles + 1 mile cool down
