Tonight was the first Jubilee race of the year and, as usual, I was volunteering rather than running. I’ve been promoted this year though and took the role of time keeper rather than my usual spot at the far end of The Street.
I had been struggling to get motivated to go for a run all day so I decided to arrive early at Rivington and go for a run before helping out. I parked up near the top barn and ran up to the pigeon tower car park then down the road to Lead Mines Clough, along through the clough then up to Jepson’s Gate, then down the road, up the slipway and back into Rivington.
It was a tough one and I was feeling pretty sluggish. I have felt a cold coming on earlier today and I still have my bad back so the combination wasn’t ideal for running.
After standing out at the Jubilee for a couple of hours (I also helped out at the junior race beforehand) my back was really stiffening up. Need to get it sorted before next week’s race!
Total distance - 5 miles
